My niece and nephew love a good campfire. I was at REI a few weeks ago and saw these “Fire Color Changing Packets” and knew I had to buy a pack for them to try. I was worried, though, would they actually work? Would they really change the fire colors?
TDLR: They Did! The packets were super easy to use. You just throw them in the fire, once it is going pretty good, and presto! New flames. We got lots of neat metallic blue and purple colors. The multi-colored flames lasted the best the first 20-minutes or so, but you could still see some different colors even at the 45-minute mark.
I bought these fire color changing packets from Colorful Fire, but the Magical Flames brand looks very similar:
